Jemima Cobb b. ca 1766 Caswell Co, NC, dtr of Henry Cobb and Deborah Reed, m. Thomas Thaxton 4 FEb 1782 in Caswell co, NC. Does anyone know anything about this man?

I found a Thomas Thaxton in 1800 in Pendleton Co, SC which is where part of the Cobb family went to later. I would like to know more about these people.

In 1790 there are no Thaxtons showing in the index on Ancestry.com. In 1800 there are about 3, one being this Thomas in Pendleton. In 1810 there are 4 Thaxtons in SC and 6 in VA. Then in 1820 there is only a Nancy left in SC and there are many in GA, AL, etc. I would appreciate some help on these folks.
